SAN PEDRO — In support of Black History Month, the 99 Cents Only Stores has announced a partnership with San Pedro/Wilmington NAACP (Branch #1069) and Joe Gatlin, founder and vice president of the NAACP’s local chapter, for a special event supporting unhoused youth.
The donation event will happen Feb. 24 at the San Pedro 99 Cents Only Store on Gaffey St. The collaboration focuses on collecting donations of essential hygiene products, such as shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion, and water.

Through this fundraiser, together, we aim to create positive change, honoring the rich legacy of Black history and fostering a brighter future for all.”

During the event, members of the community can donate to the marked bin at the store’s entrance. Additionally, preassembled hygiene product baskets will also be available for purchase at registers.
