After more than 40 years, Random Lengths News continues to be the only progressive alternative community newspaper in the Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbor Area. RLn strives to inspire readers to build their diverse communities through critical thinking and actions, contributing to social change in their neighborhoods.
In addition, for more than 10 years, Random Lengths has been supporting the future of journalism by mentoring future journalists from local colleges and universities through our internship program. RLn internships provide young journos with the necessary tools to go out into the world and conduct quality reporting and writing, preparing them for transferable jobs in the journalism industry.
Random Lengths News does not have a paywall and subscriptions are not required to read our news in print or online.
We are living in trying times and providing local news with the help of quality staff, reporters and interns is an upward challenge. Unfortunately, it all costs money.
When you support Random Lengths News you are directly helping support journalists with the necessary resources to cover the Harbor Area communities with a critical eye and thoughtful analysis of government and politics and insightful writing on culture and society. Reader support is vital.
