Random Lengths News addresses its communities’ need to be informed and entertained about the area news as it relates to workers, government, schools and local artists. The newspaper strives to inspire readers to build their diverse communities through critical thinking and actions. Its coverage encourages readers to rediscover their political and artistic power, and to contribute to the social change in their neighborhoods.
Random Lengths News also offers a 120-hour unpaid internship program for students who have an interest in journalism. The internship program is designed for students to gain experience — not just as journalists, but as professionals in any field. The program promotes diversity by accepting students at different levels of competency and backgrounds to gain hands-on training and mentorship about the day-to-day operations of a news publication.
