Lomita City Manager Ryan Smoot has named Brianna Rindge to be the new community and economic development director to join the Lomita management team. Her first day was Nov. 14.
Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Rindge obtained both her bachelor of science in architecture and master of city and regional planning from Georgia Institute of Technology. She worked in planning for Charleston County, South Carolina, the cities of Doraville and South Fulton Georgia, and, most recently, the City of Palos Verdes Estates as community development director. Brianna values professional development and has maintained her designation as part of the American Institute of Certified Planners with the American Planning Association since 2016.
She sees the progress and potential of Lomita’s commercial corridors and is excited to get back into economic development work. Her first priorities are completing the existing team by filling vacant positions, working through state mandate implementation, and forming relationships with the city’s residents, business owners, and leaders.
Since moving to the South Bay four years ago, Brianna has spent most of her time dodging COVID-19, but enjoys attending concerts and sporting events. As a natural-born planner, she loves to travel and hopes to complete trips to all 50 states, with only three left, and seven continents with two to go.
Brianna and the management team acknowledge and thank Sheri Repp Loadsman for assisting with the smooth transition and for her role in obtaining Housing Element certification for the city. Brianna looks forward to further developing the General Plan and code enforcement.
