Thanks to the funding from United to House LA, the city council approved a new emergency renters assistance program that will be launching Sept. 19.

This program will provide up to six months of rental arrears to low-income residential renters who are at the risk of homelessness due to unpaid rent as a result of COVID-19 or other financial hardship. See the eligibility requirements on the flyer above. You can apply online at housing.lacity.org anytime between 8 a.m. Sept. 19 and 6 p.m. Oct. 2.

Additionally, CD15 councilmember Tim McOsker also introduced a motion to see how small mom-and-pop landlords with 12 units or less, can apply for rental assistance in the case an eligible tenant has not applied for rental relief. The council passed this motion and this application period will be coming soon.
