A rare opportunity to see a silent star’s screen magic while sitting in a gorgeous Romanesque Revival church.

Featuring live accompaniment by world-class organist Robert York, the First Congregational Church of Long Beach or First Church, located at 3rd & Cedar in downtown Long Beach will screen the 1928 silent comedy classic, Steamboat Bill, Jr. starring Buster Keaton. Keaton does his own amazing and dangerous stunt work. Hold onto your hats for the cyclone scene.

Robert York, a professional musician, composer, church organist and pianist in concert has performed in numerous venues including the historic Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles and will accompany this classic film on First Church’s powerful 70-rank Moeller Pipe Organ.

First Church is in a 1914 historic landmark building and is a well-known leader in social justice and outreach initiatives, as well as being an actively open and affirming church. The church invites the greater Long Beach community to be a part of its 10 a.m. services every Sunday at the corner of Arts & Justice (3rd St. and Cedar Ave.).
