Donald Trump’s fourth indictment lays out exactly what Fulton County DA Fani Willis believes Trump to be: an organized crime boss
Back in January of 2021, I wrote the following about the twice impeached ex-president and published it the day before the Jan. 6 insurrection in the U.S. Capitol and the American Republic. He was and remains the most corrupt and unscrupulous president this country has ever seen. It is now becoming clear that the corruptions of the Trumpster are undeniable, provable and pervasive as he continues to try and lie his way back into power.

Careening from Crisis to Crisis
I would be lying if I told you that if I never had to write about Donald J. Trump ever again it wouldn’t be too soon. His roller coaster crises have just been exhausting, annoying and ridiculously absurd leading to stupid arguments with his devotees and cult followers who trust social media postings and wild conspiracy theories coming from newly minted fake “news” websites more than they do actual journalists. My gripe about the mainstream media is that it has taken them far too long to catch onto Trump’s grift. Too long for them to call him out as a liar and a cheat. And too late in having journalists with the stones to actually call him out in person and suffer the inevitable ridicule that he is known for dishing out. Trump is never wrong, right?
And after three and a half years of investigations, lawsuits, and indictments, Trump is still lying about the 2020 election, despite the overwhelming mountain of evidence showing that he tried to steal it. And what’s more, after four indictments, some people are still defending him. The latest indictment charges him with 13 felonies in Georgia, which was just released this week. None of this is new, in fact, all of it seems like old news except that DJT has now been arrested four different times. Rep. Adam Schiff said, “This indictment, like the one returned by a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C. a short time ago, closely tracks the evidence we uncovered during the Jan. 6 Select Committee’s investigation. And I led the hearing that examined Trump’s conduct in Georgia, revealing much of this evidence. Trump is charged with a sprawling racketeering enterprise, in which he sought to overturn the election in Georgia and other key battleground states. The new indictment lays out, in graphic detail, many of the overt acts in furtherance of his plot to hold onto power after losing the election.”It is bizarre that a four-time indicted ex-president can still have a commanding lead in the polls for the Republican primary But this can be attributable to the fact that the party has been taken over by fascist zealots who drank the MAGA Kool-Aid, while the moderate Republicans have fled or changed parties. Most of the rest of the country is still trying to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic (mismanaged by Trump), and has grown weary of the phony culture wars (spurred on by Gov. Ron Desantis) and are suffering from post-pandemic inflation. The problem is that the average person is just too weary of the grifter’s demented reality-TV-style campaigns, as it’s clear that the gift he’s running to become president again is to fund his legal defense to keep him out of prison. The only way to bring this country back to its senses will be to convict the Trumpster on multiple charges, to lock him up and throw away the key. He is clearly Public Enemy No. 1 and is a threat to our entire democracy and system of justice. This has become increasingly clear with every charge in every indictment. What is aggravating is that he’s still out on bail and running around the country between court appearances yelling, “The system is corrupt” and they “stole the 2020 election.” CNN put the situation in perspective recently, “The charges in this state case – which bring to 91 the total number of criminal charges he’s facing across four separate cases – intensified an already epochal collision between Trump’s now extreme legal quagmire and the 2024 election in which he is the front-runner for the Republican nomination.” What this means for the nation is not only a probable rematch with President Joe Biden but a collision of historic significance against the democratic institutions, not seen since the American Civil War. It strikes me as highly ironic that we contrast the liberal Republican party of the 1860s versus that of today by the words of the first president of that party, Abraham Lincoln. He summed up one of the great battlegrounds by saying, “We are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” And, “that this nation … shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
The question for America is whether enough people will wake up before November 2024 and not let the corruption threaten the government of, by and for the people.
Like I said in the beginning, if I never had to write or even mention his name again it wouldn’t be too soon, but alas, it looks like we are in for the final act of the great grift.
