Two Meetings: LASD Civilian Oversight Commission Meeting Agenda Posted and Virtual Conference on LASD Jails

The Civilian Oversight Commission for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is hosting a commission meeting. The public is encouraged to attend. As the commission works to boost transparency and accountability, community input is vital to the ongoing analysis of the department’s policies, practices and procedures.
There are three ways to attend:

Virtual Conference on LASD Jails

Join the virtual conference to learn about the wellbeing of people incarcerated in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department or LASD jails. LASD’s custody operations is responsible for the care, custody, security and rehabilitation of all sentenced and pretrial incarcerated people housed within their facilities. Although rehabilitation is part of their responsibility, some still question, “Can people get well in a cell?”

This session will focus on institutional services for improved rehabilitation including access to physical and mental health services, education-based programs, and community connections.

There are three ways to tune in:
