SAN PEDRO — At about 5 a.m. Dec. 5, just across from Random Lengths News office, an older adult male was fatally struck by a LA Sanitation truck heading south on Pacific Ave. It appeared as though the older man had just stepped off the curb when he was struck.
On Dec. 13, Theresa Sardisco, a family member of the victim, posted a picture of Mr. Sardisco and Ms. Sardisco on the San Pedro California Facebook page. She said that the man was her cousin, Vincent J. Sardisco.
She said that he was hit while crossing in the crosswalk and “he mattered” and “he was loved by many and was well taken care of with food, clothes and all of his needs by myself, family members and friends everyday.”
Sardisco went on to say she hopes this clears up any rumors out there.
RLn is waiting for further information on the incident from the Los Angeles Police Department, Harbor Division.
