JCOD Marks Second Chance Month

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Justice, Care and Opportunities Department or JCOD will take part in a series of events throughout April in recognition of Second Chance Month, connecting justice-impacted individuals and families to services and resources across Los Angeles County.

On March 3, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors proclaimed April 2026 as Second Chance Month in Los Angeles County through a motion authored by board chair and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, recognizing efforts that support justice-impacted individuals returning home and strengthen community safety through reentry programs, culturally specific services, restorative justice and trauma-informed care.

Throughout the month, JCOD will work alongside community-based service providers, colleges and other partners on events in all five supervisorial districts, helping connect attendees to care management, job training, education, legal resources and housing navigation.
