LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Justice, Care and Opportunities Department or JCOD has launched a pretrial services support center and website to help justice involved individuals navigate the justice system.
As of Oct. 1 the new JCOD support center is receiving calls at 1-833-LAC-JCOD or 1-833-522-5263 available seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. for justice involved individuals, their families and the community. The Support Center can facilitate connections to a wide range of resources, including court reminders, warm handoffs to care management providers for connections to local services, and transportation assistance to housing, court appearances, probation/parole, and childcare necessary for court appearances.
The JCOD Support Center is equipped to provide more personalized assistance and warm handoffs to connect individuals to the services they need. The call center is accompanied by justiceconnect.org, a website designed to educate justice-involved individuals and the community at large.
The website explains how the JCOD Support Center can help individuals as they navigate through the justice system, highlighting key points in the process, including the importance of making court appearances, information about the pretrial process, and answers to frequently asked questions. It is also a resource hub offering details on how to connect to care management support and a network of individualized care resources.
Justice involved individuals and their families are encouraged to call and visit Justiceconnect.org for support.
