The LGBTQ Center Long Beach Aug. 3 announced that Ellie Perez (she/her/hers) has been appointed as the interim executive director of The LGBTQ Center Long Beach. Perez has been an active and dedicated member of the LGBTQ community, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a deep commitment to advancing the rights and well-being of diverse LGBTQ+ people.
Perez brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this role, having served as a management professional and educator prior to serving as the executive director of Visit Gay Long Beach. She and her wife Angela also founded the Safe Spaces Alliance, a Long Beach City initiative dedicated to curating and promoting LGBTQ+ safe spaces as well as LGBTQ+ and ally-owned businesses. The Center said it has complete confidence in Perez’s ability to lead The LGBTQ Center Long Beach during this period and ensure that its vital services and programs continue uninterrupted.
During Perez’s interim tenure, the Center will work closely with her to maintain its core values and uphold its mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all LGBTQ+ individuals in the Long Beach area and beyond. The Center encourages the community to extend its support and cooperation as it strives to fulfill its objectives.
