Friend Fest
The May Day Festival and Friend Fest will take place, from 1 to 4 p.m. May 3, at Drake Park in Long Beach.
The event will include folkloric dances, tours, May pole dancing and live music. Activities include clothe mending, a free market and screen printing.

Fashion Extravaganza and Fundraiser
Maral clothing design presents its fourth annual Fashion Extravaganza and Fundraiser, at 5:30 p.m. May 3, at the Grand Annex in San Pedro.
Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
The event will include, cultural clothing and a showcase of local artisans.

Spanish as a Second Language
The Long Beach Senior Latino Club is hosting weekly beginning Spanish classes, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesdays starting May 14.
The class instructor is Rosa Ruiz, who plans on focusing on reading, writing and speaking Spanish. This is a 12-week session that cost $25.

Free Boat Rides
The Port of Los Angeles is offering hour-long boat tours, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at the Los Angeles Maritime Museum in San Pedro and Bannings Landing in Wilmington.

Summer of Wonders
The Aquarium of the Pacific is hosting the Summer of Wonder Press Review, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 22, in Long Beach.
The event will allow families to get up and personal with the exhibits, animals, and various programs. RSVP by May 19.
