Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a male adult that occurred on Oct. 22 in the 800 block of Alamitos Ave.
About 7 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Alamitos Ave., regarding a hit shooting. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound(s) to his upper body.
Officers rendered medical aid and attempted life saving measures until being relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, who determined the victim deceased at the scene.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before officers arrived.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to investigate the incident. The motive for the shooting and circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
The victim has been identified as Kendell Williams, a 36-year-old male who was experiencing homelessness. Detectives believe there were additional witnesses in the area and are encouraging them to come forward.
