Murder Investigation Long Beach

LONG BEACH – Homicide detectives are investigating a murder that occurred Nov. 26, 2023. At about 2:18 a.m., officers responded to the 1700 block of Pine Ave., Long Beach regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body. Officers rendered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived to treat the victim. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene. Through their preliminary investigation, detectives determined the victim was shot shortly after being approached by several male suspects. The suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived.

The victim has been identified as Andre McClendon, a 41-year-old resident of Long Beach. The motive for the shooting and the circumstances of the incident are still under investigation.
