Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 28 year old Black man in Carson.
Deputies from Carson Sheriff’s Station responded to the 1600 block of Abbottson Street regarding a gunshot victim call at 8:13 p.m. Jan. 10. Upon arriving, deputies discovered the victim unresponsive inside a car suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators learned the victim was seated in his car when unknown person(s) pulled alongside and opened fire before speeding away.
There is no suspect description at this time. The suspect vehicle was described as a light colored van.
The murder weapon remains outstanding. It is unknown if this shooting is gang related.
