The Northwest San Pedro Neighborhood Council, San Pedro Rotary Club, and students of Port of Los Angeles High School are pulling together a Youth Employment Preparation Fair on June 2 from 8:45p.m. to 4p.m. The fair is intended to sharpen young people’s marketable skills critical in this tough economic environment.
The fair will feature workshops that focus on communication skills for successful interviews, obtaining and using work experience as an advantage, and Red Cross certification and more. Representatives from the restaurant industry, civil service, retail, and many more will be on hand to provide information about their application process and what they look for in applicants.
The event is free to all youth in San Pedro between the ages of 16-24. Lunch will be provided at the fair if you register early at http://spyeef.weebly.com/index.html. Applicants can still register on the day of the events.
