Join at Angeles Gate Cultural Center, Feb. 14 for the opening of Species of Magic: From the Studio of W.S. Milner, a solo exhibition of works by the late San Pedro artist also known as Wendy Calloway (1948 – 2025).
Curated by Phoebe Barnum and Susan Davis, this exhibition features a selection of works from the collections of many who knew and loved the late AGCC Studio Artist.
Species of Magic: From the Studio of W.S. Milner draws inspiration from a definition of poetry that characterizes it as a transformative and enigmatic force. Poet, scholar, and artist, Wendy Calloway’s rich practice was akin to alchemy, a transformative force for constructing reality and unveiling hidden truths. This celebratory exhibition offers a glimpse into her studio practice, providing insight into the creative environment where her “species of magic” took form.
