City of Carson Honors Deputy Luis Cisneros For Stopping Attempted 7-Eleven Robbery

The City of Carson honored Deputy Luis Cisneros Jan. 23 at the council meeting with a certificate of commendation. Deputy Cisneros who has worked on the force for over nine years was praised for his quick response and valor. The attempted robbery took place at one of Carson’s 7-Eleven stores located on the 1700 block of Avalon Boulevard and Victoria Street.  Early on the morning of Jan. 13. Deputy Cisneros apprehended four suspects attempting to rob the store.

Mayor Lula Davis-Holmes, who is a spouse and mother of former law enforcement officers and understands what daily life is like waiting on your loved one to come home. Davis-Holmes said, “the first responsibility after doing what you have to do is coming home safe to your wife.” She also expressed how proud the city is of Cisneros and “thanks to his quick response he was able to call for backup and have the suspects apprehended. We are so grateful for your service.”

Sheriff Robert Luna who attended the council meeting, said that it isn’t easy to walk into a robbery in progress but “his response was amazing and when I called him a couple of days later just to congratulate him and tell him what an awesome job he did, he was one of the most humble men I’ve ever spoken to. So be proud that he doesn’t hesitate and he loves this community, he loves his job and I believe he’s a true representation of the men and women of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.”

Deputy Luis Cisneros considers Carson his home away from home. Upon receiving the recognition he said “I’m grateful for the support the city has provided, and grateful for the training that I’ve received from the sheriff’s academy, because without it, none of this would have been possible. I’m blessed of the outcome of the incident and more so of the investigation due to our Major Crimes detectives. I’m humbled by the praise and support so far and I just want to say, truly, thank you.”
