An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.1 struck off the coast in Los Angeles County the morning of Jan. 1.
The U.S. The Geological Survey reported the earthquake, at 8:27 a.m., was located 11 miles south of Rancho Palos Verdes at a depth of seven miles.
Over 2,000 people in the Los Angeles County area reported feeling the quake, according to the USGS website.
The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department and the Lomita Sheriff’s Station both stated no damage or injuries were reported in the area.
