Provide Your Input on the LGBTQ+ Cultural District

The city has created concepts for a vision and feasibility plan for the city’s new LGBTQ+ Cultural District. Help identify and prioritize which improvements are most important by completing our online survey at, https://www.myinput.com/long-beach-lgbtq

The interactive survey provides examples of placemaking components, including lighting, wayfinding and signage, street furnishing, public art installations and landscaping.

The survey will be available in various languages including English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog through Nov. 19.

Port Parking Lot Available for People Sheltering in Cars

A vacant lot on Port of Long Beach property at the north end of the Harbor District is now available for people sheltering in their cars overnight to do so safely. Under a one-year agreement with the City of Long Beach Health and Human Services Department, the port is contributing the site at the southeast corner of Anaheim Street and Santa Fe Avenue to Long Beach’s Safe Parking Program managed by the department’s Multi-Service Center or MSC. The lot provides safe parking for up to 30 vehicles from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Support services include portable restrooms and handwashing stations, lighting and fencing, and security. During working hours, MSC staff may park in the lot. The lot is also available for City of Long Beach vehicles. The Port site is a temporary solution while the Health and Human Services Department searches for a long-term location.
