Long Beach Celebrates Grand Opening of New Environmental Education Center at DeForest Park
LONG BEACH — The City of Long Beach, in partnership with the Conservation Corps of Long Beach or CCLB, celebrated the grand opening of a new Environmental Education Center at DeForest Park (6255 DeForest Ave.).
The Environmental Education Center features a community space and training area and will serve as a satellite office for CCLB staff to support their work along the lower Los Angeles River and community environmental stewardship activities at the DeForest Park and Wetlands.

City Launches New Site for First-Time Homebuyer Assistance Program
LONG BEACH — The City of Long Beach launched a new website for its upcoming first-time homebuyer assistance program, which will provide approximately 100 eligible families with up to $20,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance. The application process for qualified residents is expected to open in early 2023.
Long Beach residents interested in participating in the grant program or learning more are encouraged to sign-up to receive program updates and further details when available. Residents who sign-up will also receive information regarding a series of orientation sessions that the Development Services Department will be hosting over the coming months to assist individuals with the application process.
