The City of Los Angeles Harbor Department or Harbor Department has prepared an Initial Study/Negative Declaration or IS/ND to address the environmental effects of the proposed Terminal Way chassis support facility project, or project, located at 740 Terminal Way, San Pedro in Terminal Island at the Port of Los Angeles.
The proposed project would permit the development of a chassis support facility that provides storage, maintenance and repair of chassis. The proposed project would happen on an about 9.55 acre parcel, an about 3.55 acre parcel and an about 2.900 square foot office space, totaling about 13.5 acres. A term permit would be issued for the operations of the proposed chassis depot for up to five years.
The IS/ND is being circulated for a period of 30 days for public review and comment. The public has an opportunity to provide written comments on the information contained within the IS/ND.
The 30-day review period started Sept. 16, 2021 and ends on Oct. 15, 2021. A copy of the document is available for public view on the port’s website at: www.potoflosangeles.org.
A copy of the document is also available for public review at the Harbor Department’s Environmental Management Division, located at 425 S. Palos Verdes St. San Pedro.
