Councilman Steven Neal invites community members to the Ninth District Captain Training: Health, Safety, and Equity, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 23, at the North Long Beach Community Center. This is a free four-hour training focused on understanding and analyzing the community factors that shape health, safety and equity. This training is open to all residents who want to get involved in out 9th District Captain program. This training will also provide information on how to develop comprehensive strategies in the areas of healthy eating and active living.

The AOC7 neighborhood will be taking a free tour of the Port of Long Beach, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 28, starting at Dock 9 of Shoreline Village in Long Beach. Validation is provided for a reduced parking rate at Shoreline Village ($1 for the first two hours with validation, and $2 for each additional 20 minutes).
