San Pedro Community Plan 
The Los Angeles Department of City Planning is hosting an open house and public hearing  Dec. 12 for the San Pedro Community Plan Update at The Boys and Girls Club in San Pedro. Open house will from 5 to  6:30 p.m., with the public hearing coming subsequently from 6:30 through 8 p.m.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
The YWCA of Harbor Area and South Bay are offering information and assistance to those applying for consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. Applicants must: have entered the United States before the age of 16 and before June 15, 2012; be at least 15 years old and must have born after June 15, 1981; must have continuously resided in the United States since June 15, 2007 and present in the United States on June 15, 2012; be in school, have graduated from high school or obtained a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the military; must not have been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor, or three or more misdemeanors; and  must not pose a threat to national security or public safety.Call for an appointment.
