LOS ANGELES —  Mayor Bass announced the appointment of Matt Hale as deputy mayor of finance, operations and innovation following the announcement that deputy mayor Jeanne Holm will retire from the city.

“Matt brings more than a decade of experience working in City Hall on the annual budgetary process and in partnership with City departments for the good of Angelenos,” said Mayor Karen Bass. “I look forward to working with Matt in this new role, and I want to thank Jeanne Holm for her leadership as Deputy Mayor of Finance and Innovation this year.”

As deputy mayor of finance, operations and innovation, Hale will oversee departments that provide core services to the city in hiring, technology and facilities management, as well as the city’s annual budgeting process.
