FAQ Update on Lincoln Cemetery

Many people have inquired about the unannounced closure of Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery this past summer and may be wondering about the status of the community’s interest in the cemetery now that it no longer operates under a licensed owner.

Assemblymember Mike Gipson announced that the CA Department of Consumer Affairs’ Cemetery and Funeral Bureau or CFB has posted an FAQ document that provides an update on the current status of Lincoln, along with what to expect going forward.

It has been just over two months since the cemetery license was canceled. CFB’s FAQ explains what this means in specific terms, from a legal perspective. The FAQ also addresses the status of the Lincoln plot map and temporary cemetery management options for those who know that they or their loved ones will utilize this cemetery in the future or currently lie in rest here. CFB’s information is a full update of information known at this point.

Assemblymember Gipson is continuing to explore all possible avenues that will expedite the path to license operations at the Lincoln Cemetery and is advocating for the community.

If you have any questions, contact Assemblymember Gipson’s office 310-324-6408.
