Join the Los Angeles / Long Beach Harbor Coalition 44th Annual Labor Solidarity Parade and Picnic

Union Labor Built the American Dream

Join the 44th Annual Labor Solidarity Parade and Picnic Rally, Sept. 4. On the main stage, listen to union leaders: Gary Herrera, president of ILWU Local 13; Ernesto Medrano, executive secretary of Los Angeles/Orange County Building Trades Council; Yvonne Wheeler, president of Los Angeles County Federation of Labor; and Mark Clements, executive secretary-treasurer of Maritime Trades Department AFL-CIO (pending: Fran Drescher, president of SAG-AFTRA).

As a special treat, opera tenor Donald Perry will sing the national anthem. High school marching bands in attendance will be: San Pedro High School, Carson High School, Banning High School, Garfield High School and ROTC and Harry Bridges Middle School.

Enjoy music and entertainment by the Joyriders band. For the kids, there will be Bob Baker Marionette Theater, face painters, a balloon artist, free popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.

Free picnic fixings will include hot dogs, chips, soda beverages and chili.

Time: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 4

Cost: Free

Locations: Parade line up area, 510 Broad Ave., Wilmington, starts at 10 a.m.

Picnic Location: Banning Park 1331 Eubank Ave., Wilmington, starts at 11 a.m.
