Through the years, there have been frequent fatal officer shootings in Los Angeles County. When these incidents happen, the community is left wondering what, if any, disciplinary measures happen to the officers involved?
This conference will bring together experts to explore investigation protocols, conflicts of interest, and community transparency. The panelists will highlight concerns about holding officers accountable and discuss the obstacles of enforcing discipline or charging officers with a crime. Learn about the investigation following a fatal officer shooting, the roles various departments play in the process, and some reasons officers are often not charged with a crime.
