The Port of Los Angeles High School Board of Trustees has announced that Mr. Tim Dikdan, effective April 24, will serve as Interim Principal. The appointment will ensure a successful transition of leadership, due to Mr. George Mora’s announcement of his resignation from the school as executive director/principal.
Mr. Mora has been with POLAHS since 2006 and is a respected colleague, mentor and friend to many POLAHS staff and families. The POLAHS press release said Mr. Mora has served POLAHS faithfully and diligently as executive director/principal since 2017. He will be missed greatly in his leadership role, and the Board of Trustees supports his desire to move on to new adventures.
Like Mr. Mora, Mr. Dikdan is a longtime educator and POLAHS Bear, serving the school’s students and families since 2005. He was Teacher of the Year in 2006-2007 and has held leadership positions at POLAHS including science department lead teacher, student dean, and most recently, assistant principal. Mr. Dikdan will serve as interim principal effective immediately.
