Long Beach City Council Proposal
On July 19, the Long Beach City Council will vote on a proposal to have the city manager prepare an agreement with the California State Board of Equalization to administer the revenues from the June 7, voter-approved Measure A.

Credo Memorial Service
The Long Beach Police Department is hosting a memorial service for its K-9, Credo.
K-9 Credo died on June 28 from injuries during a SWAT call-out involving a barricaded suspect. In place of flowers, the Parcells Family requests Credo’s memory be honored by donating online or sending donations to Long Beach K-9 Officers Association P.O. Box 17366, Long Beach

Senior Police Program
The Long Beach Police Department is accepting application for its Senior Police Program with interviews expected to start July 25. Senior Police Partners are a motivated volunteer team dedicated to improving the community.

Better Together
California State University Dominguez Hills will co-host the second annual Better Together: California Teachers Summit on July 29.  Participants can learn and share with each other effective strategies used in the classroom and discuss where more support is needed. There will be TED-style EdTalks about various educational topics and a discussion about student mental health issues.

Aug. 6
Monthly Beach Cleanup
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium will host its monthly Beach Cleanup, where volunteers will clean up the shoreline, size and sort the plastic pollution and learn about coastal habitat, the growing amount of marine debris within it and the benefits of protecting the ecosystem.
