LBPD Surveillance Footage


The Long Beach Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in shooting that took place about 8 p.m. March 22, which injured two people, including a 10-year-old boy.
Footage of possible suspects or witnesses was captured at a service station near Long Beach and Del Amo boulevards. Anyone with information regarding this incident or who recognizes any of the witnesses in the video is asked to (562) 570-7370.

Former LAPD Deputy Named Assistant Chief LA Port Police
SAN PEDRO — The Port of Los Angeles, March 21, announced the appointment of 44-year law enforcement veteran Michael R. Hillmann as assistant chief of Los Angeles Port Police.
The position is a new post for the organization
Hillmann served 42 years of service with the Los Angeles Police Department, most recently as deputy chief. During his tenure with LAPD, he was assigned to a variety of commands that include Metropolitan Division, SWAT and Air Support Division. He was promoted from lieutenant to captain in 1996 and appointed deputy chief of police in 2002, later to implement and command the LAPD’s Special Operations Bureau.
After retiring from LAPD in 2008, Hillmann was selected as assistant sheriff for the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department, where he served until 2010. His commands included field and investigative operations, emergency preparedness, mutual aid coordination, special operations, critical incident management, airborne operations, counter-terrorism intelligence and other investigative units.
He is also a published author of several tactical articles addressing SWAT, crisis negotiation, critical incident decision-making, airborne law enforcement operations, crowd management, and use of force.

During his two decade tenure, he has investigated, reported on, written and assisted with hundreds of stories related to environmental concerns, affordable housing, development that exacerbates wealth inequality and the housing crisis, labor issues and community policing or the lack thereof.
