Grand Ventures Booksigning and Talk by Author Tom Sitton

Wilmington–On July 28, Tom Sitton, author of Grand Ventures: The Banning Family and the Shaping of Southern California will be giving a talk on the role of pioneer Phineas Banning and his descendants in the rise of the Harbor Area. He will primarily focus on the second generation and their ownership of Santa Catalina Island from 1892 to 1919. There will be a fifteen minute question and answer session after the lecture followed by a book signing.

FREE for Friends of Banning Museum members and children under 12, and $5 for non-members. Starts at 10a.m.

The Banning Museum is a facility of the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation & Parks & is operated in cooperation with the Friends of Banning Museum. Friends of Banning Museum is a non-profit organization  whose mission is to “Preserve History, Promote Education & Inspire Entrepreneurial Spirit.”
