Set to Soar: Padilla, Butler Announce Over $89 Million for California Airports from Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

CALIFORNIA — U.S. Senators Alex Padilla and Laphonza Butler (both D-Calif.) Feb. 15 announced that four California airports were awarded a combined $89.3 million in grant funding from the Federal Aviation Administration, made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The funding comes through the Airport Terminal Program and will help meet the growing demand for air travel and support projects to improve passenger experience, accessibility, and sustainability.

California recipients include the Bob Hope (Hollywood Burbank) Airport, the Los Angeles International Airport, the Metropolitan Oakland International Airport, and the San Francisco International Airport.

In Los Angeles, recipients will receive funding for the following projects:

Los Angeles International Airport: $31 million. This award funds two areas of the auxiliary curbs at ITF West and ITF East which includes a combination of new, extending, widening, and utility improvements of surrounding roadways.

Bob Hope (Hollywood Burbank) Airport: $17.3 million. This award funds the construction of portions of the foundational slab and structural components of the 355,000 square feet replacement passenger terminal building at BUR. This will include portions of the headhouse structure and three concourse structures, all separated by seismic joints.
