Join the virtual conference to learn about the process and circumstances when the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training or POST can revoke certifications for peace officers.
Too often when law enforcement officers who engage in misconduct are discovered, they move to another agency and continue their misconduct. Senate Bill 2, which was signed into law in 2021, creates a decertification process to prohibit officers who engage in misconduct from regaining eligibility for peace officer employment anywhere in California.
The panel will discuss the decertification database, the criteria to include an officer on the Brady list, civil service rules that protect officers and situations when an officer can be charged with a crime.
