Random Happening: Taco and Tequila Festival Celebrates 200 Years of Jalisco in Downtown Long Beach

Get ready to indulge in vibrant flavors, lively music and a festive atmosphere as the Taco and Tequila Festival comes to the heart of Downtown Long Beach July 8. This extravaganza promises to be a tantalizing celebration of the beloved taco and tequila culture, featuring an array of food, drinks, entertainment, live music, lucha libre and much more.

2023 marks the 200th anniversary of Jalisco as a free and sovereign state. Known as the birthplace of tequila, Jalisco’s contribution to the world of agave-based spirits cannot be overstated, as it produces 90% of all agave in Mexico. Given the large population of Jalisciences residing outside of Jalisco, Los Angeles County becomes the ideal location for this collaboration and the perfect setting to commemorate this historic milestone.

As guests savor culinary delights and tequila-based cocktails, they will be serenaded by the sounds of traditional mariachi bands and energetic Latin music. They will also get the chance to watch wrestlers fight in the ring lucha libre style.

The Taco and Tequila Festival is not just a celebration of food and drink; it is a cultural experience that pays homage to the heritage and traditions of Jalisco. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in various activities and demonstrations, offering insights into the art of tequila, Mexican entertainment, and the historical significance of Jalisco’s bicentennial.

Join to raise your glass and toast to Jalisco’s journey, the incredible flavors of Mexico, and the unifying power of food and drink.
