Community Grants Program Seeks Public Input

The Port of Long Beach is hosting a public workshop Nov. 9, to help determine the 2023-25 priorities for the community grants program, a landmark initiative aimed at lessening the environmental impacts of cargo movement on the surrounding area.

Potential grant applicants are encouraged to attend. Translation is available upon request; however, requests for translation should be provided at least 72 hours in advance.

See the program fact sheet here. Additional information can be found at www.polb.com/grants. Workshops will be recorded. Those who cannot attend can fill out an online survey, which will be available at www.polb.com/grants on Nov. 9. The survey closes on Nov. 30.

The award-winning Community Grants Program is a more than $46 million effort to fund projects that help those in the community who are most vulnerable to port-related environmental impacts. These projects include expanding asthma services, controlling stormwater runoff through the building of permeable parking lots, and creating open space buffers between port operations and communities.

Time: 4 to 5 p.m., Nov. 9
