Board of Supervisors to Vote on Support for Federal Stimulus

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will vote Dec. 8, on a motion by Supervisor Janice Hahn to formally support the latest proposal of a federal Coronavirus stimulus package.

“The CARES Act was critical funding for us at the beginning of this pandemic—but we have been largely abandoned by the federal government since then,” said Supervisor Janice Hahn. “With a new real federal funding package, we could pay people to stay home and pay businesses to stay closed. It would be the most effective tool we would have to fight this virus in the final stretch before a vaccine is widely available.”

The motion to be considered Tuesday calls for the Board of Supervisors to send a five-signature letter in support of the recent bipartisan $908 billion Federal Pandemic Relief Proposal and any other Federal proposals that will help provide critical relief to the County and its residents.
