Hahn Sworn in for 44th Congressional District
WASHINGTON — Rep. Janice Hahn was officially sworn in, Jan. 3, as the Representative of California’s new 44th Congressional District for the 113thCongress.
California’s 44th Congressional District includes Carson, Compton, Lynwood, San Pedro, South Gate, Watts, Willowbrook, Wilmington and the Port of Los Angeles.
“I am going to fight for legislation that will help us create good paying jobs in our communities and empower small businesses to hire and grow,” said Hahn in a statement released by her office. “I am going to fight to harness the power of a strong and secure port to open new opportunities for our communities and our businesses. And I am going to fight to end the scourge of gun violence that has plagued our streets since long before the tragedy in Newtown.”
New Electric Vehicle Charging Stations at Metro
LOS ANGELES — On Dec. 28, Metro launched its Level 2 charge stations at five Metro Rail station parking lots in the Los Angeles area, including Union Station, Sierra Madre Villa, Universal City, El Segundo and Willow in Long Beach.
The electric vehicle charging stations will allowing riders with electric vehicles to conveniently charge their cars while using the Metro system.
How It Works
- Sign up for an account here.
- Once you register, you’ll receive a smart card for use at any Metro EV charge station.
- Park your vehicle at a Metro charge station marked with the parking symbol to the right.
- Swipe your smart card to start charging.
- Plug in and go.
- Get notifications (via email or SMS) to find out when your EV is fully charged.
Charging will cost $1 per hour with a $3 cap per charge, and users will be billed through their account. Parking is free at all charge stations except at Union Station.
