Sapphire Solace

Saphire Solace

For this Goth/Alternative Rock duo, composed of veteran guitarist, Rick Joyce and singer/songwriter Velvet Shadow, Sapphire Solace is a collaborative effort. Velvet Shadow a veteran soloist and songwriter released an untitled five track EP in 2006. In that same year she began working on a side project titled Dream Cypher with  Alex G of the Industrial/Gothic band EvilMoon Project. It was during the end of 2006 , that the beginnings of Sapphire Solace began, with Joyce working on a track she had previously submitted to him. After working together on Velvet Shadow’s music, they both decided to collaborate on an entire project together, and Sapphire Solace began. Starts at 9p.m. Check them out on Facebook.

NEVERWONDER at UNITY FESTIVAL
This L.A.-based band with a modern rock/soul sound; hints of Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden with vocals of Tina Turner, Joss Stone, and Pink influence. Fronting NEVERWONDER is sultry former AMERICAN IDOL vocalist Megan Bobo. Bobo finished among the Top 25 Finalists during Season 5 of the top rated hit television series. She was also nominated for “Best Female Vocalist” Award for the 2007 South Bay Music Awards. With Bobo’s great vocals and Neverwonder’s compelling music, this should make for a musical marriage made in heaven! They go on at 2:30p.m.

The Golden State Pops present their next concert, “On With the Show: Musicals From The Silver Screen featuring Susan Egan,” June 16, at the Warner Grand.  Ms. Egan, the original “Belle” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and the voice of “Meg” in Disney’s Hercules will join the orchestra to perform music from Funny Girl, Chicago, Cabaret and more.

George KAHN – Jazz & Blues Revue
THE JAZZ & BLUES REVUE, with George Kahn (musical director) on piano and featuring the vocals of Courtney Lemmon, Gina Saputo and Dianne Wright.
Courtney Lemmon, Gina Saputo and Dianne Wright, each a fabulous soloist in their own right, take turns singing together and as individuals. The evening includes a medley of songs by such jazz greats as Peggy Lee, Nina Simone and Lambert Hendricks and Ross.
