Dare the World to Save the Planet
On March 23, at 8:30 p.m., thousands of cities around the world will go dark for one hour during Earth Hour, World Wildlife Foundation’s annual campaign to raise awareness of the environmental challenges we all face, such as climate change.
Earth Hour is a simple idea that quickly turned into a global phenomenon. Hundreds of millions of people around the world turn off their lights for one hour on the same night, to focus on the one thing that unites us all-our planet.
Spanish Conversation Group (planning)
Join a Spanish conversation group, at 1 p.m. March 23, at Building Healthy Communities in Long Beach. The initial meeting will be to get input from novice, intermediate, and fluent Spanish speakers, and to work together in planning future conversation groups for Time Exchange members.

EqualityTV is offering the opportunity to have people participate in a video PSA, from 12 to 6 p.m. March 23, in Signal Hill.
The PSA will broadcast on EqualityTV and other media outlets.
This PSA will take its Photo Campaign concept further, and allow individuals and families to express themselves by literally embracing one another, and sharing what makes us each different, whether we are ‘Gay,’ ‘African-American,’ ‘Gothic,’ ’82 years old,’ ‘Christian,’ ‘Buddhist,’ ‘Former Marine,’ ‘Man,’ ‘Woman’ or ‘Trans-Gendered.’ Everyone will have a voice and be accepted. This PSA will be an artistic and emotional piece that will redefine the way we perceive ourselves and others.

LBPD East Division Community Forum
Cmdr. Rick Faran will discuss property crimes, trends of crimes in neighborhoods, safety and community watch, at 7 p.m. March 28, at the Long Beach Police Department Police Academy Fire Room.

Urban Ocean Poetry Contest
The Aquarium of the Pacific is hosting its 4th Annual Poetry Contest as part of the Urban Ocean Festival. Poems submitted must address the following theme:
