Villaraigosa, Hahn, Buscaino Celebrate POLA Main Channel Deepening Project
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Rep. Janice Hahn, 15TH District Councilman Joe Buscaino, together with officials from the Port of Los Angeles and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will celebrate the completion of the Port’s Main Channel Deepening Project, at 9 a.m. April 3, on the rear deck of the USS Iowa at Berth 87.
The Port of Los Angeles began to dredge its waterways to -53 feet about a decade ago. The 10-year, $370 million project to deepen the Port’s main navigational channel and turning basins enables the Port to accommodate bigger vessels.

Motorists are advised of a scheduled filming from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 3, at Millikan High School in Long Beach.

Pathways to Employment
Pathways to Employment Youth Workshop is an event designed to help youth in San Pedro prepare for and find employment, starting at 8 a.m. April 6, at the San Pedro High School John M. & Muriel Olguin Campus.
There will be workshops present at the event to help educate teens on the skills they need to be successful in attaining and keeping a job. There will also be many local businesses that will be available to help youth practice what is learned in the workshops. This event is free to all youth in the Harbor area ages 16 to 25 with lunch being provided at the event. We highly recommend pre-registering for the event using the link below. There will be registration available at the day of the event as well. Those that register prior to the event will have a guaranteed lunch.

NWSPNC Stakeholder Meeting

The San Pedro Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Coffee with city attorney candidate Mike Feuer, from 8 to 9 a.m. April 11, at the Chamber Boardroom.
Community members will have the opportunity to hear from and dialogue with the candidate in the coming May 21 Los Angeles election.
Coffees are free to members and $10 to non-members. Reservations are required.

Our Children Food and Wine Festival
Honda presents the 28th Annual For Our Children Food and Wine Festival, April 28, at the Torrance headquarters of American Honda.
Proceeds will benefit TrinityKids Care, a program of Providence TrinityCare Hospice Foundation and Sandpipers philanthropic programs.
Guests will experience gourmet foods and fine wines from over 90 restaurants and wineries.
