June 12

Flavors of Hungry Festival

Mishi's Strudel Bakery & Café presents the "Flavors of Hungry Festival,” from 2 to 9 p.m. June 12, at the Croatian Cultural Center in San Pedro.

The event will include performances by the Hungarian Scouts Chorus, the Karpatok folk dance ensemble, traditional foods, strudels, wine tasting, pastries, arts and crafts, handwork and csardas dance lesson.

Cost is $10 for adults, $13 for youth and $5 for children younger than 5 years old.

Juneteenth Celebration

Long Beach’s District 6 is celebrating for the Juneteenth for the third year, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 18, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park.

Juneteenth is the celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. This year’s theme "A Family Reunion," will showcase performances by local youth choirs and entertainers.

Included at this year’s event is the annual 6th District Domino Tournament, an “Old School Dance Contest” and a good ole fashion community barbecue, with free hamburgers and hot dogs.
