Rep. Diane Watson of Los Angeles, is expected to announce her retirement Thursday Feb. 11, according to a Los Angeles Times blog and a Feb 9report in the The Hill newspaper.
Assemblywoman Karen Bass (D-Los Angeles) likely will bid to replace the Watson.
Bass has been a close Watson and thus, has declined to publicly comment bidding for the congresswoman’s position.
