Los Angeles Unified School District science advisor John Zavalney, based at San Pedro’s Math, Science and Technology Center recently was awarded the Excellence in Education award by the Jane Goodall Institute at the Leadership Awards Celebration in Los Angeles.
The event honors exceptional corporations and individuals working to conserve the planet. Zalvaney was recognized for his leadership in teaching about the preservation of natural world and the strengthening of community.
