The Long Beach City Council will vote on a resolution, Tuesday, Nov. 17, to authorize about $1 million per year for graffiti removal services from Graffiti Protection Coatings Inc. The contract would have an option to renew the services for two 1-year periods at the discretion of City Manager Patrick H. West.
The City Council may request a report from the City Attorney Robert E. Shannon and the Port of Long Beach that delineates the stipulated settlement between the Port of Long Beach and the American Trucking Association involving the Clean Trucks Program.
Other action items on the agenda include a recommendation to request the convening of the Charter Amendment Committee to discus and consider establishing an even-year/odd-year June to November election cycle, and a recommendation by the Economic Development Department and Finance Committee to implement an Equal Benefits Ordinance that would, among other things prioritize business dealings with contractors who offer equal benefit packages to employees with same-sex partners.
