Local activists, Doug Epperhart and Bob Gelfand are working to get on the ballot an initiative that would cut the pay of Los Angeles City Council members in half. In the long run, this could lead to an expansion of the City Council and perhaps a conversion to a bureau styled system like that of New York, long envisioned by Angelenos fed up with not being heard.
