Dear Mr. Allen: Supervising Judge Mark Kim has forwarded your letter of April 30, 2008 to me for response. I have discussed the matter of your continued jury service with Judge Kim and he conveyed that Judge Rodriguez has agreed to excuse you from further service during this, your current summoning period. Accordingly, I have directed my staff to excuse you.
Judge Kim has also directed me to ensure that when you are summoned in the future, you are assigned to civil cases only. It is our understanding that you had some particular issue with or aversion to service in criminal cases.
We thank you for your service and for taking the time to write. We look forward to your service in the future.
Gloria M. Gomez Director of Juror Services Division
