Medieval & Spanish blues: Guitar & Song

Born in France in the early 60’s, Claude Bourbon grew up in Switzerland, where he was classically trained. This finger picking guitarist has performed and studied all over the world; he has crafted an unbelievable fusion of classical and jazz, with ethereal Eastern influences, Spanish and Latin elements with strains of Western folk. The band leader and arranger, Yu Ooka has been working professionally as a jazz guitarist. Lead vocalist, Marisa Kosugi had been professionally trained in real Minyo world in Japan. Rocketman: The Elton John Tribute Blasts Off
The Norris Theatre will come alive to the sounds of one of the biggest pop artists of all time at a special return performance of “Rocketman: The Elton John Tribute.” In a show as extravagant as Sir Elton’s celebrated career, Scotsman Rus Anderson re-enacts an early Elton John concert, complete with exact replica costumes, down to the feather boas, platform shoes and crazy, oversized sunglasses, accompanied by a six-piece band.

The Aristocrats-GUTHRIE Govan/ BRYAN Beller/ MARCO Minnemann
“Back by Popular Demand” This will be a Live Video shoot: Featuring three of the most accomplished virtuosos in the world in the genre of rock-fusion instrumental, The Aristocrats was formed shortly after January, 2011 after guitar sensation Guthrie Govan, drum phenom Marco Minnemann, and bassist extraordinaire Bryan Beller got together to do an impromptu Bass Bash event during NAMM. The three musicians hit it off so well in terms of musical interplay and chemistry that they immediately said after the show that they need to do this again. That talk evolved into making a debut album and the new fledgling supergroup went into the studio in Chicago in late-April to record the album which will be released in the summer 0f 2011.They will be playing June 2 and 3. Read more.
